Building a Great Portfolio as a Product Designer

1. Planning Your Portfolio

2. Be Selective

When deciding which pieces to include in your portfolio, it's important to be selective about what you put in there. Quality should always trump quantity; focus on showcasing only those projects that are truly representative of your best work.

Don't worry about showing off every single thing you've ever done - if it doesn't add anything significant to your portfolio then leave it out! This ensures that all potential employers or clients see only your very best work when they look at your portfolio.  

3. Presentation Matters

Once you have selected the pieces for inclusion in your portfolio, it's time to think about how they'll be presented. The goal should be to create a visual story that shows off not just what you did but why and how you did it - this allows viewers to get an understanding of not just the end result but also the thought process behind each project. A great way to do this is through videos or animation sequences that show off different sections of each project - this will give viewers a greater appreciation for what went into making these products come alive!

Additionally, make sure that all images are high-quality and properly labeled so they can easily be understood by any viewer who looks at them without having any prior knowledge of product design or engineering principles.
